Auction Day Checklist: Everything You Need Before the First Lot

Print this one. It is the same list we walk through an hour before every auction we host.

Published 15 Jul 2026 · AuctionWala

The hall

One table per team with a visible team name, a projector or LED screen the back row can read, and a mic that works. Test the projector with your actual bid screen open — not a slide deck.

  • Projector or LED wall, tested with the live bid screen
  • Team tables with name cards and paddle numbers
  • Working mic and a backup mic
  • A wired internet connection plus one mobile hotspot as backup

The paperwork

Final player list locked and uploaded, categories confirmed, base prices set, purses loaded, and the rules printed on one page per table. Anything unresolved at this point becomes an argument later.

The people

An auctioneer to call lots, a compere to keep energy up, and one operator on the app. Three roles, three people. When one person tries to do all three, the room slows down and the fun drains out.

After the hammer

Export squads, publish the unsold list, share total spend per team, and get a group photo before people scatter. Then send fixtures within 48 hours while the excitement is still fresh.
